FAQs

  • Tattoo: 18 and up only. No exceptions.

Piercings: depends on the piercing. To ask about this, message our piercer here.

  • Possibly. Depending on the severity of the issue, we recommend that you talk to your doctor before booking an appointment.

Your artist reserves the right to cancel your tattoo if they believe that tattooing you would be unsafe. Such instances may include:

    • A diabetic having an inconsistant and/or high sugar levels

    • A client being severely immunocompromised and/or prone to infections

    • The tattoo’s placement being on or near an active skin flare-up (psoriasis, eczema, etc.)

    • A client is recovering from or preparing for invasive surgery.

    • If a client is on antibiotics or has been on antibiotics in the past two weeks.

  • Yes. We offer both numbing cream and numbing spray at the studio, and will apply it for an additional charge of $10 - $20 (depending on the size of the tattoo).

As pain is an age-old part of the tattoo experience, we suggest that you not use numbing cream unless it is absolutely necessary. However, if you find that you have an exceptionally low pain tolerance and/or your pain makes it difficult for your artist to complete your tattoo, we will happily offer it.

  • No. You cannot drink alcohol 24 hours before or 24 hours after your tattoo. Not only does alcohol impair your judgement, but it also thins your blood, increasing the risk of blow-outs and blurriness in your tattoo.

If you show up to your appointment drunk, your artist will cancel your appointment.

  • No. Painkillers change some functions of your body, possibly making the tattoo more difficult to do.

  • Yes. Taking the following steps before your tattoo appointment will make your tattoo easier and more comfortable:

    1. Take a shower.

    2. If the area is extremely hairy, shave or trim the area. Your artist will shave you regardless, this will just save some time.

    3. Wear comfortable clothes that allow access to the area you want tattooed.

    4. Eat at least an hour before your appointment. During the procedure, your body can react by your sugars fluctuating and, if you are not fed, they could drop and make you lightheaded, nauseous and/or faint.

    5. Stay hydrated. A day before your appointment, make sure to drink lots of water.

    6. Arrive on time. Your artist may have other clients that day, and arriving late may mean there is not time to do the tattoo you want. If you are fifteen minutes late or more (without letting us know) your artist may consider your appointment void and fill your slot.

  • For any tattoo (especially longer appointments) we suggest that you pack a bag with the following:

    • Your photo ID (required)

    • A high-carb or high-protein snack

    • A water bottle

    • A change of clothes (if you are not already wearing the proper clothes for accessing your tattoo area)

    • Indoor shoes (in the winter months we require this)

    • A blanket, if you feel like you need one.

    • A pair of headphone/earbuds, as playing videos/music aloud in the shop distracts your artist and is not allowed.

  • Yes. No matter how long your tattoo takes, you must pay the artist’s base rate to sit for a tattoo. This is not only to cover labour, but also supplies and other shop overhead.

If you believe your chosen tattoo design will take much less than an hour, we encourage you to pick out a second small design to get the most out of your hour.

  • Several times a year, our artists will have flash days. On these days, we will offer a selection of pre-drawn designs for discounted prices. We may also accept small, simple tattoos on those days.

We also do giftcard raffles, where you can win sessions.

For news about upcoming flash days and prize draws, keep an eye on our Facebook page.
